As a Florida native, I grew up loving the outdoors, so painting landscapes * en plein air* or on location is natural for me . I prefer to work in layers of oil, wet over dry and many visits are required to complete a painting . By painting what I see and feel, I try to share with the viewer the beauty, peace and serenity that I find in the natural world. Painting on location has allowed me a greater connection to this time and these vanishing places of the Florida that I love. I also hope that they inspire the viewer to enjoy, preserve and protect the wild places of Florida.
