For hundreds of years people have come to the springfed rivers, wetlands and shorelines of North Florida for exploration, inspiration and rejuvination. These remain powerful forces drawing visitors and residents to North Florida today. Fed by the ancient underground aquifer, North Florida is home to the largest constellation of fresh water springs in the world. Sandwiched between the tropical and the temperate zones, North Florida is indeed an Eden -- a place where wildness and mystery still hold sway.

We welcome you to Florida's Eden, and invite you to explore our back roads, small town, and wild places as well as our larger communities. Inspiration has brought artists, writers, botanists, naturalists and others here for centuries and our towns, big and small, are hosts to a lively cultural life. Health and rejuvenation are also a major draw: outdoor recreation, spas, a host of schools and institutes, and world class medical research facilities.
Our Florida's Eden Plan works with our communities, organizations and businesses to portray the richness of North Florida, preserve its authentic and unique qualities, and build a sustainable prosperity for all who live here.
The AAONF has created the Florida's Eden Plan as an open and inclusive framework within which organizations and communities can operate with their own autonomy and independence, and yet cooperate with one another in preserving the Florida we all love, and build a better and more prosperous future for our selves and our children and grandchildren. We look forward to meeting you and hearing your stories!
The ARTT Program brings local artists, naturalists and creatives into core curriculum middle school classrooms.
Along the way, our region has become famous for its creative community events, most notably Paint Outs. The AAONF offers a complete manual on how to host a Paint Out, provides event assistance to those within our region, and as a nationally available consultant organization.
